Many of our clients really enjoy stretching or massaging their muscles after their training using foam rollers, but are always asking us where they can get one. We usually purchase our foam rollers on Amazon.com.
Foam rolling is an important part of stretching your muscle before and/or after working out.
Rolling before a workout warms up the muscles before use. Don’t hold these for a long time, like a static stretch, but rather keep the roller moving in an active stretch.
Rolling after a workout helps relax the muscle and allow it to repair better. You can foam roll several times a day if you would like or if your muscles are sore and need it.
If you find yourself glued to your foam roller, you may need to consider a massage. My favorite massage therapist in the Salem, Oregon area is Tessa Moore, and she comes to your house for the same price as it would cost for you to drive to someone else’s studio.
Black foam rollers are high density and provide a deeper massaging action.
Blue foam rollers are low density and provide a lighter “touch”.
